Budget Consciousness
94%
conversion lift for retailers that use A.R
By analyzing the customer responses and behaviors, I synthesized their perspectives into a singular persona to capture their shared goals and frustrations
To make the most impact in creating the look and feel they want, without spending a lot of money to do so
Goals
Persona
To address these goals and challenges, I designed a recommender system that leverages data derived from user-selected styles and inspirations. This system generates a personalized assortment of cohesive items that align with the desired aesthetic. To enhance user control, I incorporated additional filtering options such as price and color.
By offering tailored recommendations, users can concentrate their efforts on selecting the few items they truly love, instead of getting lost in the overwhelming task of matching an aesthetic within their budget. This approach allows users to channel their energy more efficiently and make confident decisions while curating their desired spaces.
To know the look they want, but not how to achieve it
Doesn’t know how multiple items will look, together, in their space

Utilizing the camera functionality, customers are enabled to capture the dimensions of their apartments or rooms. This tool serves as a valuable asset, empowering users to seamlessly position items within their space, providing an accurate representation of how they will appear. The tool takes into account the precise dimensions of the items, ensuring a realistic and proportional visualization.
Conclusion
Being forced to move at a faster pace challenged me to stay focused on the big picture and continue rapidly developing the overall concept rather than getting bogged down in each individual element.
By avoiding the temptation to immediately flesh out every detail of a feature as the idea was developed, and instead working quickly between different parts, I was able to create a more cohesive unity within the entire piece.
This approach allowed me to accomplish more in a shorter amount of time than I had ever thought possible. Although creating a working prototype in just one day was a significant challenge, the experience gave me the confidence to continue utilizing speed in my future processes, while still allowing room for multiple iterations
“I read blog posts on how to decorate a small apartment. They always include 10+ items - which ones should i get if I can only afford 3 or 4”
“So many items look great in the staged photos - but will they look good in MY living room?”
Uncertainty
After reviewing user interviews, it became evident that the primary challenges faced by customers revolve around uncertainty in decision-making and budget constraints
Users often experienced uncertainty when it came to liking a product in store or online, but not knowing if they will like it in their living space.
Recognizing this challenge, I began looking for a solution that would allow customers to visualize an item within their homes, and arrived at the innovative concept of augmented reality (AR) 3D visualization.
I learned that...
